Praying the Scriptures
Wednesday Morning Prayer
January 29, 2025
Hear, O Israel: The LORD is our God, the LORD alone. You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. Keep these words that I am commanding you today in your heart. (Deuteronomy 6:4–6)
O Lord, my God,
As the sun rises over the desert mountains, painting the earth in hues of gold and amber, I pause to quiet my heart and listen to Your voice. Here, in the stillness of this winter morning, I hear the words You spoke to Your people long ago.
Father, I open my heart to You this morning, longing to love You fully—mind, body, and spirit. Teach me, in the simplicity of this quiet hour, to treasure Your commands as the heartbeat of my day. Let my love for You shine in all that I do, reflecting Your light in this vast and open land.
As the winds carry whispers through the yucca and mesquite, let them remind me of Your presence that moves with me. The rugged beauty of these desert plains speaks of Your steadfastness, and the crisp air fills my soul with gratitude for the life You’ve given me.
Help me, Lord, to love You with every ounce of strength I have today. Whether in the routine of my chores, the kindness I offer to others, or the prayers I lift for those in need, may my actions honor You.
Seal Your words in my heart as I walk this January path. May I carry them as a banner of faithfulness, proclaiming that You alone are God—yesterday, today, and forever.
Amen.
May this prayer bring you strength and encouragement as you go about your day!
