Praying the Scriptures
Wednesday Morning Prayer
December 18, 2024
Praise is due to you, O God, in Zion; and to you shall vows be performed, O you who answer prayer! To you all flesh shall come. (Psalm 65:1–2)
Good morning, Lord,
As the sun rises over the desert and paints the landscape with hues of gold and crimson, my heart lifts to You in praise. You, O God, deserve my deepest gratitude, for Your presence surrounds me like the stillness of this New Mexican morning.
“Praise is due to you, O God, in Zion; and to you shall vows be performed, O you who answer prayer!”
Today, I offer my prayer with the same faithfulness as the desert yields to Your care. You are the One who hears, the One who answers. I know that no cry of my heart is ever lost in the vastness of this world. Like the gentle winds that sweep across the mesa, Your Spirit moves, bringing peace and hope to every corner of my being.
As I walk this Advent journey, waiting for the celebration of Your Son’s birth, I seek to live this day in expectation and devotion. Teach me to honor You in my words, my actions, and my thoughts. Let my life reflect Your goodness, just as the wide skies of New Mexico declare Your glory.
Lord, forgive me where I have fallen short, for You are merciful and loving. As I breathe in the cool morning air, let Your Spirit renew me and prepare me for the day ahead. Let my life be a song of joy and gratitude, a prayer offered in quiet faith.
May this Advent season draw me closer to You, O God, the One who answers prayer. With every step I take today, may I walk in Your light, awaiting with hope the fullness of Your promises.
In the name of Your Son, Emmanuel, God with us, I pray.
Amen.
May this prayer bring you strength and encouragement as you go about your day!
