Praying the Scriptures
Wednesday Morning Prayer
August 21, 2024
Finally, beloved, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is pleasing, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. Keep on doing the things that you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, and the God of peace will be with you. (Philippians 4:8–9)
Heavenly Father,
As a new day dawns, we come before You with hearts filled with gratitude. We thank You for the gift of life, for the breath in our lungs, and for the opportunities that lie ahead.
Lord, as we step into this day, we ask that You help us to dwell on whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and admirable. May our thoughts be fixed on those things that are excellent and praiseworthy, for we know that our minds shape our words, actions, and our very being.
Guide us, O Lord, to live out the teachings and examples of Your Son, Jesus Christ. May the peace that surpasses all understanding guard our hearts and minds in Him. Help us to put into practice the lessons we have learned so that we may live in a manner worthy of the Gospel.
May Your presence go before us, with us, and behind us, leading us into the fullness of Your peace and joy. Let our lives be a reflection of Your goodness, spreading love and kindness to everyone we meet.
We pray this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
Amen.
May this prayer bring you strength and encouragement as you go about your day!
