Praying the Scriptures
Wednesday Evening Prayer
August 21, 2024
Finally, beloved, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is pleasing, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. Keep on doing the things that you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, and the God of peace will be with you. (Philippians 4:8–9)
Gracious and loving God,
As the day draws to a close, I come before You with a heart full of gratitude and peace. Thank You for guiding me through this day, for the moments of joy and the lessons in challenges.
Lord, help me focus my thoughts on what is true, honorable, just, pure, pleasing, and commendable. Let my mind dwell on things that bring light and life so that I may reflect Your goodness in all I think and do. As I prepare for rest, I seek to hold onto Your peace, which surpasses all understanding.
May Christ's example and the teachings I have learned today shape my actions tomorrow. Grant me the wisdom to keep practicing these things, knowing that You, the God of peace, are with me. Surround me with Your presence tonight so I may rest securely in Your care, refreshed and ready to serve You with renewed strength.
In Jesus’ name, I pray,
Amen.
May this prayer bring you comfort and strength as you reflect on God's promises this evening.
