Praying the Scriptures

Tuesday Morning Prayer

December 17, 2024

This life was revealed, and we have seen it and testify to it, and declare to you the eternal life that was with the Father and was revealed to us. (1 John 1:2)

O Lord of light and life,

This morning, I wake to the beauty of a New Mexican dawn. The crisp air whispers of Your presence and the golden light rising over the desert reminds me of the eternal life made manifest through Your Son, Jesus Christ.

The life that was revealed to us—I have seen it, O God, not with my eyes alone but with my heart. Your Word, Your promise, has been made flesh, walking among us, and I am humbled to bear witness.

As I prepare my heart this Advent season, I thank You for the life and hope You have brought to me. I ask for the strength to carry that light into this world, reflecting Your love and truth in every corner of my life. May my steps today tread softly, like the winds over the sagebrush, bringing peace and kindness to all I encounter.

Let Your life be revealed in me as I await the fullness of joy at the coming of Christ. Guide me through this day to share the good news of Your love, in word and in deed, and to glorify You in every moment.

In the name of the One who is eternal life,

Amen.

May this prayer bring you peace and guidance as you start your day.
