Praying the Scriptures

Thursday Morning Prayer

March 6, 2025

Ascribe to the Lord, O families of the peoples, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength. Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; bring an offering, and come into his courts. Worship the Lord in holy splendor; tremble before him, all the earth. (Psalm 96:7–9)

O Lord,

As the first light of dawn touches the desert floor, I lift my voice in praise. The rugged peaks of the Florida Mountains stand as silent witnesses to Your glory, and the whispering wind carries the echoes of Your majesty across the open land.

I ascribe to You, O Lord, honor and strength, for You alone are worthy. The golden glow of morning reminds me of Your unfailing presence, and the call of the mourning dove speaks of Your gentle mercy. As the earth awakens, I bring my heart before You, offering the worship due to Your holy name.

Clothed in the splendor of creation, I step into this day with reverence. The vast sky stretches before me, endless and unshaken, just as Your love endures forever. The scent of mesquite and sage fills the air, a fragrant reminder of Your handiwork. With each breath, I remember that I stand on sacred ground, called to walk humbly in Your light.

O Lord, let my thoughts be fixed upon You. May my words and deeds reflect the beauty of Your holiness. In the stillness of this morning, I bow before You in awe, ready to serve, ready to sing, ready to rejoice in the day You have made.

Amen.

May this prayer bring you peace and inspiration for your day.
