Wednesday Evening Prayer

March 5, 2025

Do not be afraid, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. (Luke 12:32)

Gracious and loving God,

As the sun slips behind the rugged peaks of the mountains, painting the sky with hues of crimson and gold, I come before You in the hush of this desert evening. The air is cool, and the quiet of the land settles my soul. In this stillness, I hear Your voice whisper through the wind, "Do not be afraid, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom."

Lord, in a world where uncertainty looms and worries press upon my heart, I take comfort in Your promise. You call me Your own, tending to me as a shepherd tends his sheep. The same hands that carved these mesas and stretched the heavens above hold my future in perfect love.

I lift my burdens to You now, releasing my fears like desert dust carried away by the wind. The worries I carried through this day, the anxieties I wrestled with—none of them outweigh the joy of belonging to You. Grant me the faith of the wildflowers that bloom in this arid land, knowing You provide even in the harshest places.

As darkness falls and the stars unveil their quiet majesty, I rest in Your peace. May I sleep untroubled, knowing that Your kingdom is near—not far away, not unreachable, but a gift You delight in sharing. Shape my heart, O Lord, to seek Your kingdom above all else, to live in trust rather than fear, in generosity rather than grasping, in love rather than doubt.

Keep watch over those I love, O Shepherd of my soul. Shelter the weary, comfort the sorrowful, and guide those who wander. And as I close my eyes, may my heart beat with the quiet confidence of one who is cherished by You.

In Jesus’ name, I pray.

Amen.

May this prayer bring you comfort and strength as you reflect on God's promises this evening.
