Praying the Scriptures
Monday Morning Prayer
June 30, 2025
At that time Jesus said, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and the intelligent and have revealed them to infants.” (Matthew 11:25)
Heavenly Father,
As the first light stretches across the desert and warms the Florida Mountains, I lift my eyes to the hills and my heart to You. The stillness of this dawn whispers Your presence, and I pause in gratitude for another day of life beneath Your vast and faithful sky.
Lord of heaven and earth, I thank You—for hiding Your mysteries from the proud and powerful and revealing them to the humble of heart. In this quiet hour, I do not come with answers or intellect, but with the open hands of a child, longing only to be taught by You.
As our nation approaches Independence Day, I pray not just for celebration, but for revelation. Strip us of our arrogance. May we not boast in might or wealth, but return to You with childlike faith—trusting not in flags or fireworks, but in the freedom found through Christ alone. Let our liberty be tempered by compassion, our rights surrendered for the sake of others, our pride exchanged for peace.
Today, guide my steps away from self-reliance and toward the gentle path of obedience. Teach me to listen more than speak, to notice the unnoticed, and to love without condition. May the wisdom of the world grow dim, and the light of Your truth shine brighter with each hour.
In the name of Jesus, who calls the weary and lifts the humble,
Amen.
May I walk into this day with the quiet strength of childlike faith, trusting the Lord who reveals His truth to the humble.
