Praying the Scriptures
Monday Morning Prayer
December 9, 2024
From there you will seek the LORD your God, and you will find him if you search after him with all your heart and soul. (Deuteronomy 4:29)
Gracious and Eternal God,
On this crisp December morning, as the golden light of the New Mexican sun spills over the desert, I come to You with a heart yearning to seek You. In this season of Advent, filled with anticipation and hope, I am reminded of Your promise: if I seek You with all my heart and soul, I will find You.
Lord, I open my heart to You today. I release the distractions that pull me away from Your presence and focus on the beauty of this moment—Your creation, the stillness of the desert, and the sacredness of this season. You are near to all who call on You, and I call on You now.
Help me to see Your hand in the small and ordinary things: the crispness of the air, the sound of the wind in the sagebrush, the warmth of community and love. Let these reminders of Your goodness guide me as I walk through this day.
May my actions reflect the faith I proclaim, and may my heart stay steadfast as I prepare for the coming of Christ. Teach me, O Lord, to seek You in the quiet places of my soul and in the faces of those around me.
Fill me with Your peace, Lord, and let Your light shine through me, a beacon of hope in the midst of Advent waiting. In Jesus’ name, I pray.
Amen.
May this prayer bring you peace and strength as you start your day.
