Praying the Scriptures
Monday Evening Prayer
January 27, 2025
And this is my prayer, that your love may overflow more and more with knowledge and full insight to help you to determine what is best, so that in the day of Christ you may be pure and blameless, having produced the harvest of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ for the glory and praise of God. (Philippians 1:9–11)
Heavenly Father,
As the sun sets over the vast desert, painting the sky with Your artistry, I pause to offer You my gratitude for the day You have given me. The cool January breeze whispers of Your presence, and the stars begin to pierce the darkening heavens, reminding me of Your unchanging promises.
Lord, I echo the words of Paul, praying that my love may overflow more and more with knowledge and full insight. Let this love, born of Your Spirit, guide my thoughts, actions, and decisions as I navigate the path You have laid before me.
Grant me discernment, Lord, so that I may approve what is excellent and be pure and blameless in Your sight. Even here in the stillness of this desert evening, help me to seek Your will in every moment, striving to reflect Your light in all that I do.
Fill me with the harvest of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ. May my life be a testament to Your glory and praise, bearing fruit that honors Your name. Let the love You have poured into my heart spill over into my interactions with others, spreading kindness, patience, and grace wherever You lead me.
As I rest beneath the grandeur of Your creation, may my spirit be renewed and my heart remain steadfast in my devotion to You. Keep me close to Your presence tonight and always, and may Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
In the name of the One who is my hope and my salvation, I pray.
Amen.
May this prayer bring solace and inspiration as you end your day in reflection and peace.
