Sunday Morning Prayer
December 15, 2024
A voice cries out: “In the wilderness prepare the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Every valley shall be lifted up, and every mountain and hill be made low; the uneven ground shall become level, and the rough places a plain.” (Isaiah 40:3–4)
Good morning, Lord,
Today, as I rise in this desert land, surrounded by the beauty of New Mexico’s rugged mountains and vast skies, I hear Your call: “Prepare the way of the Lord, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.”
In the stillness of this Advent morning, I surrender my heart to You. Level the hills of my pride and fill the valleys of my doubts. Smooth the rough places of my impatience and clear the cluttered paths of my life so that Your light may shine freely within me.
As the desert awaits the rain, so my soul longs for Your presence. May my steps today reflect Your promise of renewal and hope. Let me be a voice of peace, proclaiming Your love to those around me.
Lord, as the sun rises over this desert, remind me of the warmth of Your grace and the steadfastness of Your promises. On this Third Sunday of Advent, I rejoice in the hope of Your coming, trusting that all things will be made right in Your time.
Grant me the strength to walk in faith, preparing not only my own heart but also offering kindness and love to prepare the hearts of others for Your coming. Let my life today proclaim: “Here is your God!”
In the name of Jesus, my Redeemer and King, I pray.
