Praying the Scriptures
Saturday Morning Prayer
December 14, 2024
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. (Hebrews 13:8)
Gracious and Eternal Christ,
In this crisp December dawn, I step into the quiet stillness of Advent, surrounded by the rugged beauty of this New Mexican land. The rising sun paints the desert with colors that whisper of Your unchanging glory. The mountains stand steadfast, and the wind carries the ancient songs of creation, reminding me of Your eternal presence.
Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today, and forever, I marvel at the constancy of Your love in a world so often filled with change. Just as the desert endures through seasons, so do You remain my firm foundation through every moment of joy and trial.
Today, I prepare my heart to celebrate Your coming. I offer my thanks for the blessings of this season—the warmth of community, the glow of hope, and the promise of peace that echoes in the stillness of this sacred time. Teach me to trust in Your unwavering faithfulness as I await the fulfillment of all Your promises.
Lord, guide my steps today as I seek to carry Your light into the world. Let my words and actions reflect Your enduring love to all I meet, especially those who feel lost or forgotten in this holy season. Fill me with the humility to serve, the courage to love, and the wisdom to rest in Your eternal truth.
O Christ, who is the same yesterday, today, and forever, may this Advent morning be a time of renewal and grace. Help me to find joy in Your constancy and to trust that Your light will always guide me, no matter how dark the path ahead may seem.
Amen.
I hope this prayer brings you peace and inspiration as you start your day.
