Praying the Scriptures

Monday Morning Prayer

December 23, 2024

Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and through grace gave us eternal comfort and good hope, comfort your hearts and strengthen them in every good work and word. (2 Thessalonians 2:16–17)

Gracious and everlasting Lord,

As I wake to the crisp December air and the quiet beauty of this desert, I am reminded of Your eternal encouragement and unfailing hope. Just as the rising sun casts its warm light across the sands and mountains, so Your love shines upon me, guiding me in this sacred season of Advent.

Lord Jesus Christ, I thank You for the comfort You pour into my heart and the strength You give to my hands. May every action I take today reflect Your goodness, and may every word I speak echo Your truth. Inspire me to share Your love with those around me, like the gentle winds that carry whispers of Your presence across this land.

Father, as the season of waiting draws me nearer to the celebration of Your Son’s birth, I ask that You continue to encourage my heart and strengthen me in every good work and word. Help me to be a beacon of Your light, even here in the quiet of the desert Southwest, where the beauty of creation testifies to Your glory.

Guide my steps today, Lord, that I may walk humbly and serve joyfully, finding moments to reflect, moments to act, and moments to simply be still and know that You are God.

Amen.

May this prayer bring you peace and strength as you start your day.
